How to Hold the Glass.

Have you ever wondered why wine glasses are tulip-shaped? For two reasons... First, because the large opening of the glass allows the wine to 'breathe' and release all its aromas. Second, because the base allows us to hold it without affecting its temperature. Wine has a specific serving temperature, but when our palm touches the glass wall, it transfers heat, affecting the liquid's temperature. That's why we never hold a wine glass by the bowl.
